The materials used during this activity will be given credit towards substantial portion of the day as long as all the children in the classroom are using the materials.
Individualized and child-driven means that the child has had some choice in how to create and/or select the materials he or she uses. Teacher-directed art is when a teacher chooses the subject of the art creation and the materials that the child may use to complete the project.
You can meet the requirement by having at least three or more materials in other categories – drawing, 3-D, collage, and tools.
- What is considered "three-dimensional" art? How do I encourage this kind of art making in my classroom?
Have the materials available including play dough and clay
Sit down with kids and start making your own
Display three-dimensional examples
If you are trying to meet "substantial portion of the day…," you only need one type of material from the list.
